Our Team
Our team at Apex Wrestling Academy is made up of New Jersey certified coaches and teachers who bring both high-level wrestling expertise and a strong educational foundation to every session. With experience in athlete development and academic mentorship, our staff is committed to building not only skilled wrestlers, but disciplined, well-rounded individuals. Each coach understands how to balance technique, strategy, and character development, creating an environment where athletes are pushed to improve on the mat while also growing in confidence, accountability, and leadership off the mat.

Damion Logan
Co - Founder & Silver Certified Coach
A native of the City of Garfield, New Jersey (a.k.a. The City of Champions), Damion Logan founded The Apex Wrestling School in 2001, opening its doors to the northern New Jersey wrestling community in a small, second-floor warehouse space in South Hackensack, New Jersey. Since that time, Logan has grown and expanded the Apex Wrestling School brand to include three training centers, spanning the entire state of New Jersey. He was able to do so by creating professional partnerships and networking with the most elite coaches, athletes, and administrators on all levels of wrestling throughout the U.S. and the world.
Dane Tabano, MA, Ed.S., LPC
Co - Founder & Gold Certified Coach
Also a native of the City of Champions, Garfield, New Jersey, Dane Tabano has been with The Apex Wrestling School since its inception in South Hackensack, New Jersey in 2001. As a lifelong friend and wrestling teammate of Damion Logan’s since toddlerhood, Tabano was an integral part of getting The Apex Wrestling School curriculum and program off the ground, as well as maintaining its integrity.
Cherylyn Torrisi
Grade School Teacher
My name is Cherylyn Torrisi. I have an undergraduate degree in Business Finance and a Masters degree in Elementary Education with a certification in special education. I’ve taught for 29 years in the Montville School District and recently retired. On my free time I like to go to the gym, relax at the beach and spend with family and friends.

4x NJ State Place Winner. 1x NJ State Champ. Fargo Freestyle Runner Up. Fargo Greco Bronze Medalist. Junior Pan Am Freestyle Champion. Junior Pan Am Greco Runner Up. 5x NCAA National Qualifier. 5x NCAA Academic All America. Drexel University Alumni w/ Masters in Entrepreneurship. Former Volunteer/ Mentor At Beat The Streets Philadelphia. Apex Alumni.
Stacey Maciorski
8th Grade Math Teacher
Born and raised in northern New Jersey, Mrs. Stacey Maciorski enjoyed swimming in lakes, hiking through forests and walking on the beaches of Cape May. She still values these activities and fills her spare time engaging in them along with spending time with family and friends, reading, walking, singing, and playing with her cat, Sunny. Mrs. Maciorski holds a bachelor’s degree in early childhood and elementary education and a master’s degree in elementary education. In addition, she is highly qualified to teach mathematics in elementary and middle school. Stacey Maciorski worked as an elementary teacher for over 25 years, mostly in the Montville public schools. Most recently she was an aide in a Kindergarten class which she found both rewarding and exhausting. As a middle and high school student, Mrs. Maciorski took statistics for the wrestling team and admires the one to one competition that the sport provides.
